OVERVIEW
St Nelson's High School is a growing Christian secondary school committed to academic excellence, discipline, Christian values and holistic development of learners. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and visionary professionals for the position of HEAD TEACHER.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Provide effective academic, administrative and professional leadership.
- Lead the development and implementation of the school's academic and strategic plans.
- Supervise, motivate and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, discipline and academic performance.
- Promote Christian values, good character and ethical conduct.
- Ensure compliance with applicable education policies and standards in Malawi.
- Manage school resources responsibly and efficiently.
- Coordinate examinations, assessments and academic programmes.
- Maintain effective relationships with learners, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Work closely with the Board Chairman, Managing Director, Head of Advisory and Governing Council in advancing the school's mission and development.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Applicants should:
- Hold a recognised Degree in Education or a relevant education-related field, together with appropriate teaching qualifications.
- Have substantial teaching and school management experience, preferably at secondary-school level.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organisational and administrative skills.
- Have high standards of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
- Demonstrate commitment to Christian values and the mission of the school.
- Have good knowledge of the Malawian secondary education system and curriculum.
