ABOUT THE ROLE
The Diocese of Karonga, through its Education Desk, is committed to providing quality, efficient, and effective education. After establishing St. Denis Catholic Primary School in 2024, the Diocese is now opening a new co-education (Boys and Girls) Catholic Primary School in Chitipa District – St. Andrews Catholic Primary School.
Suitably qualified persons are invited to apply for the following positions:
HEAD TEACHER (1 post)
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a T2 Certificate of Education from a recognized Teachers Training College
- Must have knowledge of Catholic Social Teachings/values
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in teaching and as a head teacher
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promoting quality education and maintaining standards
- Promoting discipline at the school
- Preparing and delivering lessons
- Checking and marking schemes and records of work
- Checking lesson plans for all teaching staff
- Promoting an education-friendly environment
- Conducting general assembly
- Ensuring good relationships between the school and the community
- Conducting teacher and support staff appraisals
- Coordinating and directing school activities/programs
- Interpreting and implementing government policies
