Word Alive Ministries International, a growing Church that is involved in holistically proclaiming the Gospel, through thematic commissions of Assemblies and Missions, Relief and Development, Christian Education Governance, Peace & Justice, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced persons and with passion and a sense of calling to work within the church to fill the following vacant positions:

Responsibilities or duties

  • Implement objectives and policies for the school in accordance with Government policies and institution’s strategic plan
  • Supervise curriculum implementation and ensure compliance with education standards
  • Monitor learners academic progress and develop intervention strategies where necessary
  • Coordinate lesson observations and provide professional support to Teachers
  • Prepare academic reports and present performance updates to management
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are adhered to within the school environment
  • Coordinate examinations, assessments and academic planning activities
  • Ensure proper maintenance of academic records and earner development
  • Assist to develop and implement staff development and training initiatives
  • Ensure quality delivery of lessons that promote academic excellence and holistic learner development

Qualifications or requirements 

  • A minimum of a Degree in Education or any related field
  • Registered with the Teacher Council of Malawi (TCM)
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and academic assessment systems
  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills for monitoring academic performance
  • Leadership skills and proven administrative skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, Academic ability as well as a desire to work with children
  • Prioritization, planning and organization soils
  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chichewa.

Experience needed

At least 5 years proven experience as a senior teacher or in an academic leadership within an elementary school is a must

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing educational needs
  • Passion for Child development and academic excellence
  • Computer literate
  • Reasonable understanding of working in Church and FBO environment
  • Dedicated Christian of sound standing in their local church
  • A personal sense of God’s call to work within a church
  • Must not be less than Thirty – Five years (35) of age
