The History Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging lessons on local, African, and world history, developing students' analytical and interpretive skills.

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Prepare and teach comprehensive History lessons covering Malawian, African, and world history, aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Develop Critical Thinking: Guide students in analyzing historical sources, interpreting events, understanding cause and effect, and considering multiple perspectives.
  • Foster National Identity: Teach Malawi's history, including pre-colonial societies, the colonial experience, the independence movement, and post-independence developments.
  • Cover Key Topics: Teach topics such as the Slave Trade, European colonization, the rise of nationalism, and major world events (e.g., World Wars, the Cold War) and their impact on Africa.
  • Assess Student Progress: Set, administer, and mark tests and examinations, tracking student performance and preparing them for external exams.
  • Resource Management: Utilize textbooks, primary sources, maps, and audiovisual materials to enhance learning.
  • Promote Heritage Awareness: Foster an appreciation for historical preservation and cultural heritage.
  • Diploma/Degree in Education or related field
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience
