The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing at BLANTYRE, ZOMBA AND MZUZU CITY COUNCILS BLANTYRE CITY COUNCIL
Responsibilities or duties
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Management Officer, the Human Resource Management and Development Officer will:
- Compile monthly staff returns and maintain accurate HR records.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and placement of employees.
- Provide secretarial services to functional HR committees.
- Control and update the schedule of established offices.
- Support HR processes including recruitment, promotion, retirement, discipline, and termination of employment.
- Assist in managing the Council’s labor relations and conflict resolution mechanisms.
- Guide line managers in interpreting and administering the Council’s terms and conditions of service.
- Manage staff welfare programs and initiatives
Qualifications or requirements
Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent qualification obtained from an accredited and recognized university, and have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience in a busy and dynamic organization.
