Circle of Hope is seeking a qualified and dedicated Human Resource Officer to join our team at Grace Center. The HR Officer will be responsible for managing human resource functions across the organization, ensuring compliance with Malawi employment laws, organizational policies, and the mission and values of Circle of Hope.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted resource for management and staff, supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, staff development, and workplace policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records.
  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Administer employment contracts and ensure compliance with Malawi labor laws.
  • Monitor attendance, leave, and timekeeping.
  • Support employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling.
  • Assist with performance management and staff development.
  • Provide support on compensation, benefits, and payroll information.
  • Promote workplace health, safety, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
  • Assist leadership with HR planning, workforce management, and organizational support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification or membership in a recognized HR body is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR management or administration.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR documentation.
  • Knowledge of Malawi employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and electronic record keeping).

Essential Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities with attention to detail.
  • Integrity, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Working Conditions

The HR Officer will be based at Grace Center in Mvera, Dowa District, Malawi, with occasional travel for organizational activities, recruitment, training, or meetings.
