About the Role

AD Consult International is recruiting on behalf of a high-growth client seeking a Human Resources Manager with strong business partnering capability. This role goes beyond traditional HR administration. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to leadership, translating business priorities into people strategies, while ensuring operational HR excellence and compliance.

The environment is fast-paced, evolving, and requires a candidate who can balance execution discipline with strategic thinking.

Role Summary

The HR Manager will be responsible for leading the full HR function while acting as a trusted advisor to leadership on people, performance, and organizational effectiveness.

The role combines:

  • Operational HR execution
  • Employee lifecycle governance
  • Strategic HR advisory and business partnering

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to drive outcomes, not just manage processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. HR Business Partnering & Strategic Advisory
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on workforce planning, structure, and performance
  • Translate business objectives into actionable HR strategies
  • Support leadership in decision-making on hiring, performance, and organizational design
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations and organizational challenges
  1. HR Operations, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure full compliance with the Employment Act and Labour Relations Act
  • Maintain accurate and complete employee records and documentation
  • Oversee disciplinary, grievance, and termination processes
  • Strengthen HR policies, SOPs, and internal controls
  1. Performance Management & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Design and manage structured performance management systems
  • Drive accountability through goal setting, performance reviews, and documentation
  • Support managers in handling underperformance and development planning
  1. Recruitment & Talent Management
  • Lead structured recruitment processes using scorecards, rubrics, and assessments
  • Ensure high-quality hiring decisions aligned to business needs
  • Improve recruitment processes and candidate evaluation standards
  1. Compensation, Payroll & Workforce Administration
  • Oversee payroll inputs and workforce data integrity
  • Ensure alignment with statutory obligations including PAYE under the Malawi Revenue Authority
  • Support compensation structuring and offer negotiations
  1. Culture, Communication & Leadership Support
  • Reinforce organizational culture through consistent HR practices
  • Support internal communication and change initiatives
  • Act as a mediator and advisor in sensitive employee matters

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience, including exposure to HR business partnering or advisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of Malawian labour laws and HR compliance frameworks
  • Proven experience in performance management, employee relations, and HR operations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and drive decision-making

  • Structured and analytical approach to HR
  • High attention to detail and governance discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High integrity and discretion

Preferred Experience

  • Experience building or improving HR systems and frameworks
  • Comfort using digital tools (including AI) for HR documentation and analytics
