Company Description

Mpatamanga Hydro Power Limited (MHPL) was established in 2022 by EDF and TotalEnergies as part of the Mpatamanga Hydropower Storage Project (MHSP). The project is committed to generating clean energy and providing power storage solutions to supply electricity during peak demand hours. It aims to enhance the reliability of Malawi’s national grid, contributing significantly to energy sustainability in the region. Construction for the main works is set to begin in 2026.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Human Resources Officer located in Blantyre. The Human Resources Officer will manage day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, employee onboarding, maintaining personnel records, and payroll processing. Responsibilities include employee relations, ensuring legal compliance, developing organizational policies, and supporting performance management and professional development initiatives. The role also involves delivering consistent HR support aligned with the company’s mission of sustainability and growth.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge and experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations

Proficiency in developing and implementing HR policies, performance management, and ensuring legal compliance

Ability to manage payroll, personnel records, and other HR-related administrative tasks

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in HR-related software and systems

Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Prior experience in the energy or infrastructure sector is a strong advantage
