Background
Pentecost International Christian Centre (PICC) Secondary School, a subsidiary of the Pentecost International Christian Centre, whose mandate is "to bring hope to the hopeless, life to the dying, and help people become true disciples of Jesus Christ," is inviting applications from suitably qualified, committed, visionary, and spiritually grounded Christian professionals to fill the following positions;
Position Description
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, promoting academic excellence, nurturing students in a Christ-centred environment, and contributing to the holistic development of learners through sound Christian values, discipline, and professionalism.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education with specialization in the relevant subject area from a recognized institution. and MSCE Certificate.
- Registration with the Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM).
- A minimum of five (5) years' teaching experience in a secondary school
- Ages between 30 - 50 years old
Required Skills
- Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom teaching skills.
- Effective lesson planning, assessment, and academic management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and student discipline skills.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students academically, morally, and spiritually.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Demonstrated passion for Christian education and servant leadership.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in their respective subject areas in accordance with the Malawi Secondary School Curriculum.
- Assessing, evaluating, and monitoring students' academic performance while providing timely feedback and appropriate interventions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, examinations, and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Creating and maintaining a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes effective learning.
- Providing academic guidance, mentorship, and pastoral care to students while fostering Christian values and moral integrity.
- Participating in co-curricular and extracurricular activities that support the holistic development of students.
- Collaborating with fellow teachers, school management, parents, and guardians to enhance students' academic and personal growth.
- Attending staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school functions as required.
- Upholding the policies, procedures, and Christian ethos of PICC Secondary School.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the School Management.
