Internship Overview

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic IT Interns to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various IT functions within a mission-driven financial institution. You will support the daily operations of our IT department, contribute to key projects, and develop practical skills in a professional environment. A key area of involvement will include supporting our Core Banking System (COB) operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. General IT Support & Helpdesk

  • Provide first-level technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining workstations, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Help manage user accounts and access rights in Active Directory and other systems.

2. Core Banking System (COB) Support

  • Assist in monitoring and basic troubleshooting of the Core Banking System (COB).
  • Support the team with data validation, report generation, and routine system checks.
  • Help document COB-related processes and user guides.

3. Network & Systems Administration

  • Support basic network monitoring and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in server monitoring, patch management, and backup operations.
  • Help ensure system security by following established protocols.

4. Project & Documentation Assistance

  • Participate in IT projects, including testing new software or updates.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate IT inventory, incident logs, and procedural documentation.
  • Support the team in research and implementation of IT solutions.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks, hardware, and common software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • An interest in microfinance, financial inclusion, or the social enterprise sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with database concepts (e.g., SQL), Windows Server environments, or basic Linux knowledge is a plus, but not required.
