OVERVIEW

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of IT Management Trainee for TotalEnergies Marketing Malawi Limited. This position is tenable at the Head Office in Blantyre.

JOB DIMENSIONS

  • Compliance with mandatory safety requirements of the company.
  • Hardware installation and overseeing equipment maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems.
  • Developing new IT tools for dematerialization.
  • Support of business applications and systems and user profile management at the Head Office and five (5) other sites across the country.
  • Linux system knowledge and other operating systems; PABX system support.

ACTIVITIES

  • Attend all required group compliance training sessions.
  • Advise staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues; respond to computer and network breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems; diagnose and solve hardware or software faults; obtain replacement or specialist components, fixtures, or fittings; check computer equipment for electrical safety.
  • Report near misses and anomalies to ensure the work environment is safe.
  • Coordinate with Head Office IT units to ensure effective delivery of IT services.
  • Train clients and IT staff on IT infrastructure usage and procedures; ensure backups are taken and tested.

CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT

Systems support in the following applications:

SAP, Point of Sale devices (maintenance and repairs), PABX telephones, HRIS, Office 365 (SharePoint), IT Helpdesk, Oxygen, NEOS, WSUS, eFuel, HR ANAEL, DataPoint, HSE App, CMDB, Synology Server, Petrostock, Ticketing System (WeCare), BitLocker encryption and decryption management, DigitalP@ss, Microsoft Azure, Nagios for network monitoring, NEOS, GRC 097.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prioritization of IT routine work and user requests to meet deadlines (e.g., different system problems occurring simultaneously).
  • Ensuring data integrity and system availability to prevent unnecessary work backlogs and pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology / Computer Science.
  • Broad knowledge of business systems, processes, and platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and communication with end users/clients.
  • Ability to effectively handle concurrent tasks, coordinate work projects, and interpret policies and procedures, especially in an end-user support environment where tasks cannot be implemented beforehand.
  • Ability to comprehend the needs of multiple clients and business needs for a common function in an integrated system/application.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
