Role Overview
The IT Manager is responsible for all internal technology systems, security, hardware/software asset management, and user support. This role ensures that the organization’s infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable to support creative and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Networking: Manage office LAN/WiFi, VPN, cloud servers (AWS/Azure/GCP), and remote access policies. Ensure 99.9% uptime for critical systems.
Hardware & Software Lifecycle: Procure, configure, deploy, and retire laptops, displays, AV equipment, and peripherals. Maintain software license inventory (Adobe, Slack, Zoom, M365, etc.).
User Support & Onboarding: Provide Tier 1–3 support (in-person and remote). Onboard/offboard employees with account provisioning and security training.
Security & Compliance: Implement endpoint protection, MDM, backup/disaster recovery (3-2-1 rule), and phishing simulations. Ensure compliance with any client security requirements (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).
Creative Tech Support: Specialized support for creative tools – Wacom tablets, large-format printers, video codecs, render farms, and storage arrays (NAS/SAN).
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with MSPs, internet providers, SaaS vendors, and repair services.
Strategy & Budgeting: Propose annual IT budget, roadmap for upgrades, and lead technology projects (e.g., migration to SSO, new CRM integration).
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years in IT administration, with at least 1 year in a lead or manager role. Creative or media agency environment preferred.
Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft/Azure admin certs strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Windows/Mac hybrid environment mastery; experience with Jamf/Intune, Google Workspace or M365, and basic scripting (PowerShell/Bash). Knowledge of creative storage workflows (LumaForge, QNAP, Synology).
Soft Skills: Patient, user-friendly communication; ability to translate technical risk into business language; crisis management during outages.
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
