Background

The Industrial Solutions Specialist is a technical-commercial professional responsible for driving sales, marketing, business development, and client service for Hallmark Limited’s industrial solutions portfolio serving the energy and manufacturing sectors. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, developing technically sound and commercially viable solutions, and managing client relationships across industries such as power generation, manufacturing, agro-processing, mining, utilities, and heavy industry. The Specialist acts as a trusted technical advisor while delivering measurable revenue growth and long-term client value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of industrial solutions including energy systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, process optimisation solutions, spares, and services.
  • Achieve approved quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct technical and commercial needs assessments with plant managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and technical submissions.
  • Support demonstrations, trials, and pilot implementations.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the energy and manufacturing sectors.
  • Develop account growth strategies for key industrial clients.
  • Secure new clients, framework agreements, and long-term service contracts.
  • Support entry into new industrial sub-sectors and regional markets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned industrial clients.
  • Conduct regular site visits and technical consultations.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.
  • Maintain strong client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Support marketing initiatives, technical presentations, and solution workshops.
  • Represent Hallmark at industry forums, trade fairs, and energy/manufacturing events.
  • Gather market intelligence on competitors, technologies, and pricing trends.
  • Work closely with local and international suppliers and OEMs.
  • Support supplier onboarding, pricing negotiations, and product approvals.
  • Coordinate joint client engagements, demonstrations, and technical training.
  • Support introduction of new technologies and solutions to the market.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS), energy regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support quality assurance, documentation, and certification requirements.
  • Promote safe, compliant, and sustainable industrial practices.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipelines, and forecasts.
  • Submit timely sales, activity, and performance reports.
  • Track KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Training in sales, project management, or energy systems is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial sales, technical consulting, or energy/manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience engaging factories, power plants, utilities, or large industrial clients.
  • Exposure to energy systems, industrial equipment, process optimisation, or maintenance solutions preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical-commercial understanding.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
  • Understanding of industrial procurement and tender processes.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Valid driver’s licence preferred.
