The Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) is a local Non-Governmental Organization registered in Malawi in 2007. Since 2008, GAIA has partnered with the Ministry of Health and District Councils to bridge gaps in health care by improving access to quality healthcare services in hard-to-reach communities through Mobile Outreach clinics. Additionally, GAIA strengthens human resources for health through the Health Workforce Development programs through the provision of Nursing Scholarship and Fellowship across Malawi. GAIA seeks to recruit a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual for the following position:
Responsibilities or duties
The ICT Assistant provides technical support and helps maintain the organization’s computer systems, networks, and ICT equipment. The role ensures smooth operation of technology services and assists staff with basic technical issues.
Qualifications or requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, ICT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and networking.
- Computer troubleshooting
- Basic networking knowledge
- Communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team
Experience needed
1–3 years of ICT support experience preferred.
Technical Skills
- Computer hardware maintenance
- Operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Networking basics
- Microsoft Office
- Internet and email systems
- Knowledge in databases such as Salesforce, CommCare, Logistimo, Power BI, PowerBi will have an added advantage
- Provide basic technical support to staff.
- Install and maintain computer hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot ICT problems.
- Assist in maintaining network and internet connectivity.
- Support data backup and security.
- Maintain ICT equipment inventory.
- Assist with system updates and maintenance.
- Assist with data management (collection, data entry and compilation)
