Responsibilities or duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to users across the organization. This includes software upgrades and updates as well as resolving hardware and software issues, addressing network challenges, and delivering user training and guidance. Collaborating closely with fellow IT team members, the IT Support Officer ensures prompt and efficient resolution of all technical matters, thereby maintaining uninterrupted workflow and maximizing productivity across the organization.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and propose solutions to Improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and trends in the IT industry and make recommendations for their adoption where appropriate.
  • Coordinate software and hardware upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and order new equipment as needed.
  • Participate in IT projects as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly, following established protocols to minimize impact and ensure a swift resolution.
  • Continuously assess and improve IT processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Follow IT procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with IT policies and best practices.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills
  • Service-oriented with strong time and people management skills
  • Project management and innovative mindset
  • Programming knowledge will be an added advantage

Experience needed

A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study. At, CONA, RPA Certifications, or other relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
