Purpose of the Job
- To provide technical and administrative support in inspections, compliance monitoring and enforcement activities.
Key Duties
- Assist in carrying out routine inspections of water resources users and regulated sites, including ad hoc inspections, in accordance with instructions and established procedures
- Collect field data, meter readings and other inspection information and maintain accurate records for reporting and follow-up
- Collect, label, handle and transport water samples and related materials for laboratory analysis in line with prescribed procedures
- Assist in preparing inspection checklists, notices, files and other documents required for inspections and enforcement processes
- Prepare equipment and materials for inspection activities, ensuring all equipment are serviceable and in working conditions and field materials such as checklists are provided for
- Support civic education and stakeholder awareness activities by assisting with dissemination of compliance requirements, water resources regulations and good water use practices
- Assist in compiling data and calculating annual charges for water resources use and related obligations to support revenue forecasting and compliance monitoring
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on work done in identifying water users for enhanced revenue generation, highlighting achievements and challenges for further guidance
- Carrying out data entry, records update and making sure they are kept safe and properly filed
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus a certificate and/or experience in Water Resources Management, Environmental Management, Laboratory Science, Natural Resources Management or a related field.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in field support, inspections, sample collection, records management or a related area will be an added advantage.

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Good understanding of relevant laws and office procedures
