Description
Act as a Business Partner for the Finance department, advising client departments on financial control procedures. Ensure that the company’s financial performance, control environment and procedures conform to the international accounting conventions and company laid down procedures.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Controller, will be required to carry out the following duties, among others:
- Generate sales, production volumes and monthly THP and populate on MALAWI IMFOR BI excel template.
- Compare the populated volumes with Bouclages before sending it to the Head of Controlling for review.
- Assist the Controller in budgets and re-estimates development.
- Make Excise Duty calculation excel schedule by taking monthly sales cases from FG Bouclage to the working sheet.
- Ensure the ex-factory prices are up to date to derive the correct tax.
- Prepare Journal Vouchers for exercise tax for posting in the accounting system
- Ensure the Exercise tax schedule is reviewed and signed by the Head of Controlling and Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepare corresponding CSV for upload on the Revenue Authority portal.
- Monthly WIP working file from CMBL Production Brewer and prepare a Journal in Navision.
- Checking the WIP journal has been properly posted, and the balance properly reflects.
- Carry out meetings with marketing team from time to time to ensure that marketing activities are properly recorded and consistent with budget and accounts.
- Reconcile the utilities tracker with the Navision ledger accounts to ensure correctness and completeness.
- Generate and review MyApps reports for accuracy and reasonableness. Obtain explanations where data is not matching and provide solutions.
- Ensure that the landed cost analysis is always up to date and submit for review by the Head of Controlling.
Qualifications
The ideal candidates should have at least the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor of Accountancy Degree, with 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment preferably in an FMCG Industry.
Key Competencies
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics especially, Excel applications.
- Good understanding of accounting reporting procedures.
- Good knowledge of charts of accounts and effects.
- Ability to analyze accounting data and provide advice and solutions to client departments.
- Good accounting reporting skills.
- Simulation, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
