Role Purpose

The Lab Specialist (Medical & Industrial) is responsible for driving business growth, sales, and market penetration of laboratory solutions across medical, industrial, environmental, and research sectors. The role combines technical solutioning, client engagement, and commercial execution, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong customer relationships, and sustainable revenue growth for Hallmark Limited.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in medical and industrial laboratory markets.
  • Drive sales of laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables, and solutions.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned to divisional targets.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals in line with company policies.

Marketing & Market Intelligence

  • Develop and execute product and solution marketing plans.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitors, and client needs.
  • Organize and participate in product demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, and client trainings.
  • Support branding and visibility initiatives for lab solutions.

Technical & Client Service

  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to clients.
  • Translate customer requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Coordinate installations, commissioning, and handover with OEMs and service teams.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reports, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and ethical standards.
  • Support audits, donor-funded projects, and compliance documentation where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Chemistry / Biochemistry
  • Industrial Laboratory Technology
  • or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
  • Laboratory equipment, reagents, or solutions sales
  • Medical, industrial, environmental, or research laboratory environments
  • Proven experience in business development and technical sales
  • Experience working with donors, public institutions, or regulated environments is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of laboratory systems and workflows
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Proposal and tender writing skills
  • Client relationship management
  • Presentation and demonstration skills
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets
