The individual must be of high integrity, self-confident, dedicated to work, willing to work under pressure and God fearing.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Biomedical Sciences from accredited University or college
- A minimum of two year experience
- Registered with Medical Council of Malawi
- Those with Phlebotomy certificate will have an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
- To collect blood specimens for laboratory testing
- To correctly identify patients and match test requirements
- To select, label and handle specimen collection tubes accurately
- To perform venipuncture and provide post-puncture care
- To ensure proper placement, handling and transportation of specimens
- To prepare specimen for examination
- To perform and analyze complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunological, microscopic and bacterial tests on various body fluids using standardized techniques.
- To observe Quality Assurance measures and perform Quality Control testing.
- To evaluate and validate test results and submit/relay them to the Doctor accurately and completely within turn-around-time limit
