Nkhoma University is an institution of higher learning accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The University has three campuses; two at Nkhoma, 15km off Kamphata Trading Centre, and one at Chigoneka in Area 47. The University Head Office is situated at the heart of Lilongwe City, within Lilongwe CCAP premises. Lecturer Education Foundation (Curriculum Development) Master’s degree

Job Purpose:

To design, deliver, and assess high-quality courses in Curriculum Development and Educational Foundations. The role involves shaping pre-service and in-service teachers by providing them with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to design, implement, and evaluate effective curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars on curriculum theory, design, implementation, and evaluation.

Curriculum Design: Lead or participate in the review and development of the institution’s teacher training curriculum to ensure alignment with national educational policies and international best practices.

Student Assessment: Develop and administer assessments (exams, assignments, and projects) to evaluate student understanding of curriculum concepts.

Research: Conduct research in curriculum development and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Student Support: Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.

Community Engagement: Collaborate with local schools to understand practical curriculum challenges and bring real-world examples into the classroom.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, or Curriculum & Instruction.

Experience: At least 2-3 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or significant experience as a curriculum developer in an educational setting.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep understanding of curriculum models (e.g., Tyler, Taba, or Outcome-Based Education).
• Knowledge of the local education system and examination standards.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
