This is a full-time position at the Montessori College of Education.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Manage the College library and information resources.
  • Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
  • Acquire, catalogue, and maintain print and electronic resources.
  • Support teaching, learning, and research through information services.
  • Train students and staff in information literacy.
  • Manage electronic databases and digital library systems.
  • Prepare library reports and statistics.
  • Ensure effective preservation of library collections.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or Library and Information Systems.
  • Knowledge of integrated library management systems and digital library technologies.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Good organisational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to contribute positively to the College's vision and mission.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in an academic library.
  • Experience in cataloguing, classification, electronic databases, and digital repositories.
  • Experience supporting research and information literacy programmes.
