Jacaranda Foundation invites applications from suitably qualified and passionate individuals to oversee the implementation and quality assurance of the Luc’s Libraries Initiative.

The initiative has established 36 libraries across schools and communities, with plans for continued expansion. The successful candidate will ensure that these libraries are effectively managed, properly utilized, and aligned with the initiative’s educational objectives.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to all established libraries.
  • Ensure libraries are used for their intended educational purpose.
  • Assess functionality, record-keeping, book utilization, and learner engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support to school-based library personnel.
  • Serve as the liaison between Jacaranda Foundation and partner schools/communities.
  • Develop monitoring tools and submit periodic performance reports.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen library impact.
  • Support the establishment and setup of new libraries.
  • Promote reading culture and literacy programs within supported institutions.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Passion for literacy and child development

Experience needed

At least 3 years of experience in education, community programs, or monitoring roles.

Experience working with schools or NGOs will be an added advantage.

  • Ability to travel frequently to various sites.
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
