Founded in 1987, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a global organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to over 2,900,000 patients in 50 countries. In Malawi, AHF is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) to strengthen access to quality treatment for HIV/AIDS tuberculosis (TB), and sexually transmitted infections (STls). AHF Malawi is providing these services in 38 hard-to-reach health facilities in Dedza, Lilongwe, Ntcheu, Nkhotakota, Chikwawa, and Nsanje Districts with expansion to Chiradzulu and Thyolo planned in 2026.

To accomplish its goals in the nation, AHF Malawi is seeking highly qualified and experienced candidates for the following employment opportunities.

Position Summary

The Logistics Assistant provides operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of AHF Malawi programs. The role supports logistics, fleet management, procurement, inventory, and asset management functions in accordance with AHF policies and procedures. The incumbent will work closely with the Operations Manager and program teams to ensure that vehicles, supplies, and assets are well managed, records are accurately maintained, and all operations support services are executed efficiently.

Qualifications, Experience, and Other Attributes

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Logistics & Transport, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Operations Management, or any other relevant field.
  • Possession of a CILT or CIPS Diploma is an added advantage.
  • Valid Malawi Driving License (Class D preferred).
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in logistics, fleet management, procurement, or inventory management.
  • Experience in the NGO or health-sector environment is an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational, record keeping, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Coordinate dispatching, allocation, and routing of vehicles for staff and program activities.
  • Manage tuel records, maintenance schedules, and related fleet reports.
  • Monitor vehicle cleanliness, safety, and mechanical condition, file and report incidents or abnormalities to insurers
  • Support procurement by sourcing quotations, following up with suppliers, and maintaining procurement documentation.
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and recording deliveries of goods and supplies.
  • Support stock and inventory management, including tracking, issuing, and reporting.
  • Participate in asset verification and ensure proper tagging, documentation, and reporting of assets.
  • Drive AHF vehicles when assigned, respecting all traffic laws and AHF safety standards.
  • Support audits, operational reporting, and other logistics functions as required.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
