Background

Mamaland, a Mota-Engil Group company, is dedicated to the development and maintenance of sustainable systems through a more inclusive approach, with the aim of generating Prosperity for the Planet and for People. The MoRe Project is a large-scale initiative, with an expected duration of 40 years, focused on forest restoration and sustainable development in Malawi. The project aims to restore 555,000 hectares of degraded land through reforestation, agroforestry, and assisted natural regeneration, while promoting the active involvement of local communities. Through this approach, MoRe seeks to generate long-lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits, contributing to ecological resilience and the well-being of populations.

Role Context

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing all warehouse, distribution, and material supply operations, ensuring that resources required for production and maintenance are efficiently available. This professional will play a strategic role in developing processes that minimize costs and maximize operational efficiency, while managing and developing the logistics team, promoting continuous training, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the warehouse and distribution team, ensuring efficient execution of daily tasks.
  • Ensure the availability of materials and products required for production and maintenance processes.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee purchasing processes, controlling costs and promoting efficient resource management.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms and procedures to ensure effective inventory and supply management.
  • Manage the logistics team, including supervision, performance evaluation, and continuous training according to each team member’s responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and internal procedures in all logistics operations.
  • Propose continuous process improvements.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High Education Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related field;
  • Minimum 5-year experience in similar duties;
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, purchasing planning, and logistics process optimization;
  • Results-oriented, highly organized, and proactive problem-solving abilities;
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP (Procurement Module);
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Leadership and team management skills;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Basic negotiation and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency in English is essential;
  • A valid international driving license is preferred;
  • Availability for mobility.
