Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.

MACRO’s Vision is “Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.

With funding from CDC, MACRO is implementing the IMPACT Project whose purpose is: To strengthen effective measures to address unmet needs for HTS in the CDC supported districts towards the attainment of 95-95-95 goals.

MACRO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position under IMPACT Project.

About the Role:

MACRO is seeking a qualified M&E Assistant under the IMPACT project. The M&E Assistant will support data collection, verification, entry, analysis, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate program information for decision-making. The role will also involve providing technical assistance to field staff on data quality and supporting monitoring activities in line with project objectives.

Responsibilities or duties

Support the collection, verification, and entry of program data from project sites.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases.

Assist in data quality assessments and routine data audits.

Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports.

Support field teams in M&E-related capacity building.

Liaise with M&E Officers to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Provide timely feedback to sites on data quality and performance.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.

Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Statistics, Demography, or related field.

No criminal record.

Reasonably good health and clear state of mind.

Experience needed

At least 3 years’ experience in M&E or data management, preferably in a health or NGO setting.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Knowledge of DHIS2, DATIM, Power-BI or other health data systems is an added advantage.

Strong data entry, analysis, and interpretation skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of HIV/AIDS programming is preferred.

This list is not exhaustive as such, the successful candidate will be required to perform duties as required.
