ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is a leading African institution working to transform agriculture through increased productivity, improved market access, and strengthened food systems.
The AGRA Phuka Incubation Project is a high-impact initiative aimed at:
- Building capacity for over 2,500 Agri-SMEs
- Enhancing access to finance and markets
- Creating 20,000 jobs
- Job market analysis
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&E Officer) will lead the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems aligned with AGRA’s MEAL framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitoring & ReportingProgramming
- Develop and operationalize the project M&E framework
- Track performance against outputs and outcomes
- Prepare donor reports (quarterly, annual) and support timely and accurately reporting into AGRA’s online grant management system
Data Management & Quality Assurance
- Design and maintain project databases and data management tools.
- Conduct data quality checks
- Train staff on M&E tools
Evaluation & Learning
- Support baseline, mid-line, and end-line studies
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories for internal learning and external communication
- Promote translation of M&E findings into actionable recommendations
Accountability & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with donor and AGRA requirements and standards
- Contribute to risk monitoring and mitigation from an M&E perspective
- Support audits and evaluations
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with programme staff, implementing partners, and field officers to integrate M&E into daily operations
- Liaise with AGRA M&E teams and other donors, as required
- Participate in wide M&E coordination meetings or donor required meetings
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, M&E, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
- 3-5 years donor-funded/project M&E experience
- Proficiency in use of M&E tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel Dashboards, Kobo Tool Box, ODK, STATA, SPSS, or similar)
- Be in a possession of a valid drivers license

- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments

Reports to: Program Manager
Location: Standard Bank Head Office (Field travels will be required)

Only candidates with demonstrable experience in donor-funded M&E project experience will be shortlisted.
