Agricultural Trading Company Limited (ATC), a subsidiary company of AHL Group Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Machine Operator as follows:

Position function

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Production Supervisor, and responsible for ensuring that Factory machines are working properly, stocked with required materials, well-maintained and performing periodic checks on output.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator will include the following:

• Operating production machines according to standard procedures in order to meet production quality and daily production plans;
• Checking the quality and mix of raw materials input into production machines to ensure etective machine operation and product quality;
• Assisting in the maintenance of plant and machinery during maintenance schedule;
• Always complying with Health and Safety Procedures and Practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment;
• Reporting any unsafe act, condition, accident or injury immediately to the supervisor;
• Making and maintaining production records daily i.e. raw materials used, products and damages produced;
• Supervising the subordinates and ensuring that they understand their roles and safety precautions.
• Any other related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Attributes

• National Trade Test Grade 1;
• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE):
• At least 3 years’ experience in Plant Operation including a Forklift;
• An artisan experience in electrical or mechanical or instrumentation would be an added advantage;
• High integrity and ethical conduct;
• Team player.
