Maintenance Officer (General Maintenance Technician)

Purpose of the Post

To ensure proper maintenance and repair of Kapaza Christian Private Secondary School facilities by carrying out plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry works in order to maintain safe and functional buildings, furniture, and utilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water supply systems.
• Repair leaking pipes, taps, and valves.
• Install and maintain sinks, toilets, and drainage systems.
• Unblock drainage and sewer lines.
• Inspect water systems and report major faults.
• Install and repair electrical fittings such as switches, sockets, and lighting.
• Replace faulty bulbs, tubes, and circuit components.
• Fix or replace locks, hinges, and handles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The applicant should have:

• Malawi Tevet Advanced Certificate level 3 in Plumbing, or related trade.Malawi business directory
• At least 2–3 years practical experience in building maintenance.
• Ability to perform multi-skilled maintenance tasks.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: professional certificate
