MAINTENANCE OFFICER / TECHNICIAN
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Officer will ensure that school buildings, facilities, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of school facilities.
- Repair electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and other facility-related faults within the scope of competence.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate specialized repairs with external contractors.
- Monitor water, electrical, sanitation, and other essential utilities.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards.
- Support preventive maintenance programmes.
- Maintain workshops and maintenance areas.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards.
- Support preparation of facilities for school events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant technical qualification in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building maintenance, or a related field.
- Relevant practical maintenance experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair common facility faults.
- Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: bachelor degree
