EKHAYA LUXURY RESORT, a subsidiary of Ekhaya Group of Companies based in Mangochi, is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacant position.
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Job Purpose
To create a welcoming and professional front office environment where guests feel valued, ensuring exceptional service delivery that enhances guest satisfaction and encourages repeat business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the maintenance of the resort covering all operational areas.
- Ensure maintenance duties are carried out promptly and efficiently in line with resort procedures and standards.
- Monitor and manage energy and water consumption, maintaining clear usage trackers and making recommendations for efficiency improvements.
- Carry out regular inspection and maintenance of plant, equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Source competitive quotations and ensure availability of essential stocks and spare parts.
- Maintain strict control and accountability of all spare parts and tools within the resort.
- Implement a planned preventive maintenance programme and submit weekly reports to the General Manager.
- Prepare maintenance budgets and ensure effective monitoring and adherence to approved budgets.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operational performance.
- Innovate and maintain high standards in gardens and grounds, ensuring daily monitoring of appearance and upkeep.
- Implement and oversee maintenance schedules and monitoring plans for all resort vehicles.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or Degree or Class 1 in Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration Mechanics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar or related position, with hospitality industry experience considered an added advantage.
The Ideal Candidate Should:
- Be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong problem-solving ability.
- Possess good knowledge of estates management and landscaping, which will be an added advantage.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Demonstrate strong technical competence and attention to detail in maintenance operations.
