Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising the day-to-day operations of the markets.
- Ensuring proper allocation and management of market spaces, stalls, and lock-up shops.
- Enforcing Council market by-laws, policies, and regulations.
- Monitoring and coordinating market revenue collection in collaboration with the Finance Department.
- Maintaining accurate records of traders, market occupancy, and revenue.
- Supervising market staff and monitoring their performance.
- Coordinating sanitation, waste management, and public health activities within the markets.
- Addressing complaints and disputes involving traders in accordance with Council policies.
- Conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Preparing reports on daily operations, revenue performance, and emerging issues.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Certificate in Financial Accounting or any other related qualification obtained from a recognised institution.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Good leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of market administration and local government operations.
