Background
The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established under the Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our core mission is to shape Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services.
MSG invites suitably qualified, motivated, and agile candidates to fill the following vacant positions tenable at its Secretariat, Mpemba Campus (formerly known as Staff Development Institute (SDI) and Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management):
Job Summary
To raise and manage the profile of the School, its products, and public relations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Management
- Develop, review, and monitor implementation of marketing and communication policies, plans, and budgets.
- Enforce brand usage guidelines and develop related templates.
- Create content (web, print, presentations, graphics) aligned with business goals.
- Develop and implement internal and external newsletter strategies.
Marketing
- Promote the School’s services, products, and brand.
- Conduct market surveys and analysis.
- Prepare marketing collateral for corporate relations.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities.
- Maintain photo, patent, and artefact archives.
- Manage social media accounts and grow digital presence.
Corporate Social Responsibility
- Coordinate and implement community engagement initiatives.
Public Relations and Communication
- Manage media relations and customer communications.
- Prepare and distribute press releases and related materials.
Secretariat Services
- Serve relevant committees.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or related field from an NCHE-accredited institution.
- Registered with a relevant professional body in Malawi.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing and communication.
- Proficiency in creative design and digital marketing is essential.
