Lindian Resources Mining Ltd is expanding operations at Kangankunde Mine and as we advance through construction, commissioning, and operations, we are seeking qualified and motivated professionals to join our growing team in the following position: –

Medical Officer

Role Summary

The Medical Officer will lead the delivery of on-site medical and occupational health services, ensuring workforce health, emergency preparedness, and compliance with Malawian regulations and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate the site clinic and emergency medical systems
  • Provide clinical care and occupational health services
  • Conduct medical surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments
  • Lead disease prevention and health promotion programmes
  • Coordinate emergency response and medical evacuations
  • Maintain compliance with health legislation and reporting requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • MBBS/MBChB with valid Malawi Medical Council registration
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience (including 3 years in occupational/industrial health)
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health legislation and emergency medicine

General Requirements (All Roles)

  • Experience in mining, construction, or industrial environments will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability and prepared to work in a remote site environment with high temperatures.
  • Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement
