ABOUT THE ROLE
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country's leading sugar producer and part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group (ABF), is seeking a Medical Services Administrator to join the Estate Support Services team at Nchalo. You will direct and coordinate hospital financial administration, budgeting, procurement, and infrastructure maintenance while balancing healthcare quality and patient safety against financial implications.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Hospital Administration, Medicine, Nursing, or another health-related field with management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of increasing responsibility in a healthcare environment (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of computer systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and coordinate hospital activities related to financial administration, budgets, general accounting, patient accounting, and financial/statistical reporting.
- Ensure procurement compliance and financial governance requirements are met.
- Support the Chief Medical Officer in developing financial goals and preparing the annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts for the hospital/clinics.
- Contribute to the 5-year Capex plan for the hospital – supporting strategic asset replacement planning.
- Monitor capital asset expenditures and depreciation; ensure maintenance of hospital infrastructure (buildings and equipment).
- Balance healthcare quality and patient safety against associated financial implications when making decisions.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the hospital's overall management and leadership.
- Adhere to Illovo's policies on SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).
