JOB DETAILS:
Reporting to the Chief Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
• Providing leadership to demonstrate Lindian’s commitment to health and safety and promoting safety awareness and proactively managing risks
• Providing for the completion of all survey tasks across the Kangankunde site
• Ensuring all spatial activities are either controlled or captured to the acceptable level of accuracy
• Managing a team of four survey assistants
• Conducting open pit surveys, blast hole and RC drill hole setups
• Using GPS, drones, and Leica/Trimble equipment for spatial control
• Developing and maintaining station control registers and topographical plans
• Surveying waste dumps, stockpiles, haul roads, and ROM pads
• Executing CMS cavity monitoring and downhole/maxibore surveys
• Establishing grade and alignment of development headings using lasers
• Ensuring contractor compliance with documentation, inductions, and performance standards
• Preparing monthly reports on material movement and stockpile quantification
• Supporting regulatory submissions with accurate plans and drawings
• Driving continuous improvement and evaluating new technologies and software
• Contributing to cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:
• A bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Geomatic/Geodetic/Survey from a recognized tertiary institution
• Minimum of two years’ experience in surface and/or underground mine surveying
• Proficiency in mine design and survey software including Surpac, MineSight, Carlson, Surveyor + GPS, and Spectrum Survey Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and relationship-building across all levels
• Experience working in multicultural environments
• Training and mentoring capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing conditions
