Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position;

Motor Vehicle Technician (3 positions – Blantyre)

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent
  • Advanced TEVET Certificate in Automobile Mechanics
  • Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics (an added advantage)
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a busy motor vehicle workshop
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality service by effectively repairing and servicing customer vehicles according to service menus
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections on all new vehicles before handover
  • Ensure “fix it right the first time” workmanship to minimize repeat jobs
  • Accurately diagnose vehicle faults, identify required parts, and ensure proper fitment
  • Take responsibility for personal performance by identifying training needs and participating in development programs
  • Prepare and submit defect reports to Foremen in a timely and accurate manner
  • Address customer complaints promptly to ensure maximum satisfaction
  • Properly manage technical tools and equipment to prevent accidents and wastage
  • Adhere to Toyota standards in handling customer vehicles and tools to avoid damages and losses
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
