1. JOB INFORMATION

Job Title: OPERATIONS MANAGER Job Grade: ML8

Reports to: GENERAL MANAGER Direct Reports (Subordinates): Regional Operation Leader, Assistant Operations Manager

2. JOB PURPOSE

Strategize, plan and execute smooth operations of the business and achieve sales target and minimize costs. Manage any risks on the operations and sales where possible, as well as provide prompt countermeasures in order to minimize any impact on sales or possible damages to the business.

3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

A) Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Implement company Vision, Mission and Values and policies at operational level, and provide leadership and motivate all employees and be a role model.
  • Align sales, marketing and operational strategies and results in a timely manner with the General Manager and senior management.
  • Oversee the entire operations team, including but not limited to the ROLs, Customer Support, Supply Chain, and Hardware/engineering team to ensure maximum output as well as deal with any issues.
  • Compile and share reports with top management as and when required to.
  • Make strategic decisions in operations, based on alignment with not only the General Manager but the entire Company, including Corporate departments.
  • Plan for foreseeable circumstances, and report in an appropriate and timely manner to the senior management for any incidents which have occurred or will occur.
  • Carry out evaluations of team members and give constructive feedback in order to maximise their potential into the company’s output, and also ensure that scope of work and responsibilities are clearly defined and communicated to each team member.
  • Identify human resource gaps and communicate to the General Manager and the Corporate Manager so that necessary action can be taken.
  • Collaborate with other department to ensure smooth operations within the entire organization.

B) Functional Responsibilities:

Sales & Marketing

  • Formulate and implement strategies & tactics order to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify potential new markets, carry out market surveys and advise top management on how to increase the WASSHA market share.
  • Supervise regional operation leaders in identifying and recruiting the right marketing representative
  • Communicate monthly sales targets to the ROLs , formulate monthly tasks from which the ROLs formulate daily task for the MRs to ensure the set sales targets are met and exceeded.
  • Monitor daily tasks to ensure they are in line with the set monthly targets so as to achieve targeted sales and monitor the team’s expenses to ensure they are below budget so as to maximise the company’s profitability.

Supply Chain Management and Engineering

  • Instruct and make sure that ROLs and Supply Chain Leader are well coordinated in order to ensure that there is enough serialized and non-serialized equipment supply to meet the installation plan in each region and warehouse.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Leader to manage the stock movement on the system.
  • Execute and ensure accuracy with the Supply Chain Leader the half-year stock-taking.
  • Manage with the Supply Chain Leader and the Engineering team the spare parts and repair of broken items so that it does not affect the target sales.

Customer Support Management

  • Align with the Customer Support department and assign tasks to CSO in order to check up the sales of each agent.
  • Align with the Customer Support department in order to monitor and support the performance of the MRs.
  • Implement research calls or agent check-ups with Customer Support department.

4. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

A) Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent.

B) Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role:

  • At least seven (7) years of work experience (with 2 years of leadership) as a manager of sales or business development, preferably in the Solar Energy, Mobile Money or FMCG sectors

5. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

A) Internal customers:

  • General Manager
  • Other departmental heads

B) External customers:

  • MRs
  • Agents

6. COMPETENCIES

Technical

  • Excellent PC skills, especially MS Excel and Google Spreadsheet
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
