About the role
aQysta is a dynamic and growing organization committed to promoting sustainable agricultural practices. We are seeking a motivated and organized Organic Certification and Project Coordinator to join our team in Malawi. This role is crucial in supporting our organic certification processes and managing various projects aimed at enhancing agricultural sustainability and farmer livelihoods.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the organic certification process for farmers and producer groups.
- Liaise with certification bodies, farmers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with organic standards.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets for agricultural sustainability projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Organize and facilitate training workshops for farmers on organic farming techniques and certification requirements.
- Collect and analyze data related to organic certification and project outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on project status, certification progress, and impact.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all certification and project activities.
- Support the development of new project proposals and initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in organic certification processes or agricultural project management.
- Strong understanding of organic farming principles and standards.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in Malawi or similar agricultural contexts is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
