Jagot Plastics Limited is seeking to hire a Looms Fitter/Technician for their Production Department.
Responsibilities or duties
A Loom fitter, also known as a Mechanical Technician, is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of weaving Looms, particularly those used in the production of polypropylene (PP) and FIBC.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Setup: Assembling, installing, and aligning looms and related equipment in the weaving section. This may involve reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Maintenance: Performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on looms and their components, including warp/weft systems, heddles, reeds and shuttleless/rapier mechanisms.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues efficiently to minimize operational disruptions.
- Inspections: Conducting routine inspections to identify and address potential mechanical problems before they cause significant failures.
- Quality Control Collaboration: Working with production and quality teams to ensure the looms operate efficiently and produce high quality fabric that meets specification.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed maintenance logs and reporting significant repairs or requirements for spare parts to supervisors.
Qualifications or requirements
Experience
Proven experience as a loom Fitter, Mechanic Technician, or a similar within PP woven bag or FIBC.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of loom mechanic, including various system like shuttleless and rapier mechanisms, as well as experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.
Technical Literacy
Ability to read and interpret technical drawing, schematics, and pneumatic maintenance.
Problem-Solving Skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of weaving machinery, with a strong attention to detail.
Physical Stamina
Ability to lift heavy machine parts, and work in an industrial environment that may involve standing for long periods, bending, or working in confined spaces, with exposure to machinery noise and vibration.
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and collaboratively as part of a team.
