Opportunities have arisen for suitably qualified and experienced procurement professionals to fill the following vacant positions tenable in some of our hotels across the country.
Responsibilities or duties
Receiving kitchen market lists and system purchase requisitions for due processing.
Sourcing quotations for goods and services sourced from non-preferred suppliers.
Negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure that goods and services are sourced competitively.
Ensuring that goods from suppliers have been delivered or collected timely.
Following up with suppliers on outstanding items in cases of non-delivery.
Conducting monthly market surveys.
Coordinating quarterly supplier performance appraisal.
Preparing periodic purchase reports.
Preparing monthly cost savings’ reports.
Coordinating monthly Hotel Procurement Committee meetings.
Ensuring proper record keeping of all procurement documentation.
Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Knowledge, Skills, Competences and Attributes desired:
- CIPS Diploma in Purchasing & Supply from any institution recognized by NCHE.
- Must be a member of Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS),
- A Malawi School Certificate of Education with credits in English and Mathematics.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement department.
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and customer care skills.
- Computer literate, particularly in Excel.
