Job Overview
Reporting to the Pharmacy Logistics Manager, the Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical logistics operations to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and effective inventory management within the warehousing and distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure pharmaceutical products stored and distributed are fit for their intended use
- Analyse warehousing, packaging, and distribution processes to ensure compliance with agreed specifications
- Inspect warehouse facilities to ensure compliance with standards set by the licensing authority
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for managing pharmaceutical products
- Assist in planning and coordinating the pharmaceutical logistics cycle
- Oversee stock management to ensure timely product turnaround and prevent expiry
- Ensure quality assurance policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to
- Conduct periodic stock-taking exercises and compile reports
- Reports to the Director
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (Master’s degree will be an added advantage)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience at managerial level managing a unit handling pharmaceutical products
- Experience in pharmaceutical logistics and warehousing will be an added advantage
- Must be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Pharmacy & Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA), with no sanctions
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented with a hands-on approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems is an added advantage
- Ability to manage pharmaceutical operations with minimal supervision
