Overview
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Principal Planning Officer (LC6) at the Law Commission.
Position Details
Position: Principal Planning Officer
Grade: LC6
Reporting to: Director of Corporate Services
The Principal Planning Officer will be responsible for planning activities of the Commission, including coordinating planning, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic development initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Monitoring and Evaluation
- At least 4 years of working experience
- A Master’s Degree in Economics will be an added advantage
Principal Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities within the Commission
- Coordinating and preparing the Commission’s annual budgets and plans
- Designing and supporting the development of strategic plans for long- and medium-term development strategies
- Analyzing and recommending long- and medium-term development strategies
- Coordinating implementation of the strategic plan
- Reviewing development policies and aligning them with national economic policies and programs
- Conducting strategic policy analysis
- Interpreting national development policies to the Commission
- Preparing work plans for the Unit
- Compiling reports of technical discussions, meetings, and progress reports
- Mobilizing resources for Commission activities
Salary
A competitive salary will be offered in accordance with the Law Commission Staff Terms and Conditions of Service.
