OVERVIEW
Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) is the premier provider of housing and ancillary services in Malawi, established by Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (cap. 32.02). Our mandate is to construct houses, develop plots, and maintain existing properties. in December 2016, the act was amended to allow the Corporation to operate as a commercial entity, expanding our role in providing decent and affordable housing.
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following key positions. Ideal candidates should possess a strong combination of academic excellence, professional certifications, proven experience, and the specific competencies required to drive our strategic objectives.
POSITION: PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL CLERK
GRADE: HC 10
REPORTING TO: REGIONAL MANAGER (S)
LOCATION: REGIONAL OFFICE (S) – BLANTYRE
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compiling Procurement requirements and requisitions from user departments/sections
- Sourcing quotations and preparing comparative sheets/evaluation for quotations
- Procuring goods, works and services
- Preparing Local Purchase Orders
- Following up on undelivered items with suppliers
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual procurement and disposal reports and submitting them to Head Office
- Maintaining procurement records
- Opening, recording and closing Tender Documents
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- CIPS Diploma Level 5
- Minimum of three years experience in a busy organisation
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Honesty and integrity
- Knowledge in public procurement legislations and regulations
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- ICT Skills
- Good communication skills
