Introduction:

R4H (formerly known as Riders for Health) is an NGO working to improve healthcare delivery in Africa. R4H has been working with the Ministry of Health and Population in establishing a well-coordinated, reliable national Sample Transport mechanism. Since 2011, R4H has been working in healthcare logistics, transporting clinical samples and results, undertaking healthcare waste management, and road safety training

R4H seeks to fill the following open positions of Program Manager (1), Procurement Officer (1) & Motorcycle Training Instructor (1) to support the upward trajectory of the organization:

Title: Procurement Officer (1)

Location: Lilongwe, Malawi

Reports To: Human Resources and Administration Manager

Direct Reports: None

Position Type: Full-Time, fixed-term contract

Position Purpose

The Procurement Officer manages R4H’s end-to-end procurement workflows and asset disposal functions.

The incumbent processes all purchasing and disposal documentation to guarantee that transactions are executed in strict accordance with RH policies, donor regulations, and international procurement best practices.

Required Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a closely related field from a recognized and accredited university.

Professional Membership: Valid and active registration with the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) is mandatory

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive procurement experience within a public health sector or NGO environment.

Operational Track Record: Significant field operations experience supporting national-level programs.

Domain Knowledge: Substantial, verifiable experience in end-to-end procurement, supply chain tracking, and inventory management.

Sector Awareness: Deep understanding of the operational landscapes for USG, Malawi government & cooperating partners, the public health sector, and private vendors

Professional Ethics: High level of integrity, honesty, maturity, diligence, and accountability.
