Product Manager – Cards & Payments, Group
Reporting to the Head of Products – Cards & Payments, the Product Manager will collaborate with business and product owners across the Group to drive data-driven decision-making, performance reporting, and market monitoring for Cards Issuing and Acquiring. The role plays a critical part in shaping the Group’s Cards & Payments strategy through analytics, insight generation, and innovative product development.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Performance Reporting
- Conduct in-depth analysis of data from multiple sources to support reporting and performance tracking for both card issuing and acquiring.
- Track customer behaviour and engagement trends to drive top-of-wallet initiatives.
- Apply statistical modelling to assess revenue and profitability impacts.
Market Intelligence & Industry Monitoring
- Analyse industry trends across key markets and monitor regulatory developments.
- Conduct competitor assessments to identify market gaps and emerging opportunities.
Product Development & Strategy Support
- Assist in drafting business cases for new products and enhancements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve existing and new processes.
- Support budget preparation and ongoing monitoring.
Pricing & Profitability Management
- Recommend pricing strategies aligned to market dynamics and customer segments.
- Develop dynamic pricing models based on interchange fees for issuing and acquiring.
- Work closely with Visa and Mastercard to monitor monthly and quarterly billing.
Stakeholder & Scheme Management
- Liaise with Cards Schemes (Visa, Mastercard) on billing accuracy, reporting, and market insights.
- Collaborate with internal business units across the Group to ensure smooth product performance and alignment.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in statistical methods, data analytics, and financial modelling.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Cards business (issuing and acquiring), including interchange and billing structures.
- Ability to use Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power Bl.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and recommend innovative product enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Cards & Payments industry or in a similar product management role.
