Job Overview

LUANAR invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer, or Staff Associate in Data Science.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, innovation, consultancy, curriculum development, and student supervision within the Faculty of Development Studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Data Science.
• Develop and update curricula and instructional materials.
• Conduct research and publish scholarly work.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research.
• Secure research funding and consultancy opportunities.
• Mentor students and contribute to academic quality assurance.
• Participate in departmental and university administration.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A Master's degree in Data Science from a recognized university for appointment at the Assistant Lecturer level.
• A PhD in Data Science from a recognized university for appointment at the Lecturer level and above.

Applicants should also demonstrate proficiency in teaching:

• Robotics
• Big Data Analytics
• Machine Learning
• Statistical Programming

Other Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least a Credit for Staff Associate applicants.
• Minimum three (3) years' relevant experience.
• Publications and evidence of research funding for senior academic appointments.

Terms and Conditions

Initial two-year contract with the possibility of permanent appointment subject to satisfactory performance.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: postgraduate degree
