Background
Demographic Governance (DG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting good governance and sustainable development through evidence-based research and advocacy. We work with governments, civil society organizations, and communities to strengthen democratic institutions and improve public services.
Responsibilities
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of DG's programs. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing program work plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Leading and supervising program staff and consultants.
- Ensuring the quality and impact of program activities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and partners.
- Monitoring and evaluating program progress, and preparing regular reports.
- Identifying and mitigating program risks.
- Contributing to the development of new program proposals and strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of governance issues and development challenges in Malawi.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English and Chichewa is required.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience in program management.
