The Programme Support Officer will be based in Lilongwe and will support programme coordination, donor engagement, reporting, and monitoring processes. The role contributes to strengthening accountability, stakeholder collaboration, and visibility of programme results related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Coordination & Support

  • Provide technical and administrative support to programme implementation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support coordination of programme activities in alignment with UN Women policies and operational procedures.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, consultations, and follow-up actions.

2. Donor Reporting & Results Management

  • Contribute to donor reporting by compiling, analysing, and presenting programme and financial results.
  • Support preparation of impact narratives and evidence-based reporting aligned with donor requirements and UN Women standards.
  • Maintain accurate programme documentation and coordination records.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Accountability

  • Support monitoring and evaluation processes to strengthen accountability and transparency.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting on programme progress and outcomes.
  • Contribute to evidence generation and knowledge management initiatives.

4. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support coordination with donors, UN agencies, and partners through the Gender Theme Group and related coordination mechanisms.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strengthening partnerships and multi-sector engagement.

5. Communication & Visibility

  • Support development of communication materials, including briefs, updates, presentations, and programme highlights.
  • Contribute to ensuring visibility and consistent messaging across stakeholders and partners.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience, including:
  • Programme coordination, project management, or development cooperation
  • Donor reporting and results-based reporting
  • Monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and analysis
  • Stakeholder engagement and multi-partner coordination
  • Experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment, or related fields
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Applicants with a Master’s degree and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must not exceed 30 years of age at the time of application.

Languages

Fluent English
