The Project:
The German Sparkassenstiftung funded by the German Federal Government, is implementing the regional project \"Strengthening small-scale entrepreneurship for a social & ecological transformation and economic development in Southern Africa\". The overall project objective is to develop the skills and entrepreneurial abilities of entrepreneurs and improve their access to financial services.
The Position:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to work in our Lilongwe office as Accountant and Administrator to support the whole project implementation and lead on the tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage project budgets in line with donor agreements and organisational policies
- Track, record, and reconcile project expenditure to ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed, timely monthly financial reports
- Support programme and project managers with financial planning, forecasting, and cost control
- Process project invoices, staff costs and expense claims accurately and on time
- Support donor and internal audits by preparing and maintaining financial and compliance documentation
- Maintain complete and well-organised project and donor documentation
- Support procurement processes in line with organisational policies
- Assist with onboarding of project staff, volunteers, and partners
- Support logistics for project activities, workshops, and field visits
- Identify financial or compliance risks and flag potential issues early.News
Your Profile:
- Qualified Accountant, Degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as Accountant and or Project Aministrator preferably in the NGO or Banking Sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Provide 2 references from previous work experience with contact details.
