Background
Chikho Hotel, a leading hospitality establishment with operations in Mponela and Kasungu, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, mature, and self-motivated individuals to fill the position of Property and Facilities Supervisor.
Job Summary
The Property and Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance, operation, and improvement of hotel buildings, facilities, utilities, and equipment. The role ensures a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and employees through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
The position supervises maintenance staff and contractors, oversees electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, water, sewerage, and generator systems, manages maintenance records and inventories, supports budget control, and ensures compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental standards. The role also identifies facility improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and prolong the lifespan of hotel assets.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Property Management, or a related field. Registration with a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
- Three (3) years’ relevant experience in property or facilities maintenance, preferably within the hospitality, commercial, or institutional sector.
- Practical experience in electrical installations, building maintenance, and operation and maintenance of diesel generators.
- Sound knowledge of plumbing systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and general building maintenance practices.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and statutory requirements.
- Strong supervision, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
